I worked as a couch for 7 years, volleyball.
A thing I said to my athletes was "The moment I will not enlighten anymore what I think you should work on, is the moment you should worry and be upset about."
We fight and give most of us when we think there is a reason or an incentive.. otherwise better to save energy and put our value on something else.
I quit it, my passion got sucked up, I lost my incentive.. I started to save my mental energy and to value my time differently.
When you put all of your energy into something but the disproportion between your efforts and your gains is too wide, you are very likely sabotaging yourself.
